Electrical Engineer / Electrical Designer
We are looking for an electrical engineer / electrical designer to expand our team. Applicants shall have an electrical engineering background (professional licensure, engineering degree, or comparable work experience), strong, customer focused attitude, and eagerness to learn.
Key Understanding / Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of electrical system design for multi-disciplinary projects: Power distribution systems, lighting and lighting control systems, fire alarm systems, emergency generator / emergency power systems, communication systems.
- Understanding of the National Electrical Code, California Energy Efficiency Standards, OSHPD Standards
- Understanding of Short Circuit analysis
- Project management skills
- Understanding of construction documents and project phases (i.e. schematic design, design development, construction documents).
- Knowledge of basic engineering calculations, including connected load, demand load calculations, equipment protection, voltage drop).
- Knowledge of electrical system construction.
Key Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering (Preferred emphasis in Power Systems). Will consider other engineering disciplines if the applicant has experience in the electrical industry.
- LEED accreditation / Knowledge of the LEED rating system.
- Proficiency in the following software: AutoCAD, Energy Pro, E-Tap or SKM, Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel.
- Applicants should speak, read and write English fluently.
Electrical Systems Drafting Technician
We are looking for an electrical systems drafting technician to expand our team. Applicants shall have proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with building and site electrical systems.
Key Understanding / Responsibilities:
- Work with project manager and project engineer to develop electrical design deliverables including single line diagrams, lighting and controls design, power systems design, electrical details, and device schedules.
- Help ensure issuance of design deliverables to meet deadlines for engineering
review and project submittals. - Implement drafting of written & verbal instructions, including engineer mark-ups and sketches, in AutoCAD with a high degree of accuracy, according to company and industry standards.
- Interact with clients in person and on the phone to discuss project design and approach.
Key Qualifications:
- Autocad proficiency
- Working Revit knowledge
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Ability & willingness to work both independently & collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability & willingness to learn new computer programs required for job execution
- Ability to interface with clients and other consultants in a professional manner
- Ability to work within framework of existing CAD standards
- Multi-tasking ability
- Ability & willingness to work on a variety of projects simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in verbal and written correspondence
- Applicants should speak, read and write English fluently.
